Founded by Kurt Lindenberg in a small apartment in Breslau,\u00a0Germany, Lindy began as a family business that sold petrol lamps and early electronic equipment. In 1947 we moved to Mannheim\u00a0where Lindy Germany is still based today.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

In 1949, Kurt\u2019s son, Klaus joined the company. Under this father and son joint leadership the company\u2019s attention turned to industrial electrical and electronic products. Distribution quickly expanded to cover the whole of Germany as a burgeoning Lindy went from strength to strength.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

As demand for radio and television exploded in the 1950s, our product range expanded to include the popular KUBA radio and TV furniture.\u00a0A moment that would revolutionise Lindy was the introduction of electronic kits from the Danish manufacturer, Josty. This business\u00a0relationship not only brought us new products, but one of our most visionary family members.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Gerry Casey, an old friend of Klaus Lindenberg was the UK agent for Josty and ran\u00a0his own company manufacturing audio, TV and computer cables. After some convincing Klaus Lindenberg took some of these cables for display at a trade show.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

In a small corner at a European trade show twelve computer cables were displayed. These cables would lay the foundation for what would eventually become our\u00a0connectivity defining cable range.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

Lindy continued to grow and in 1987 Lindy UK was formed by Gerry Casey and Klaus Lindenberg, based in the North-East of England, where Lindy UK is still operating from today.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

CONNECTIVITY<\/h2>

During the 1990\u2019s we began to expand outside of Europe with new warehouses and offices opening in China, the US, Australia, Taiwan & Japan. This international expansion was mirrored at home in Germany where a new warehouse was created to serve the increasing number of people who purchase Lindy products.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n

In 1992, Gerry\u2019s son, Darren joined the marketing department of Lindy UK before becoming managing director in 1995. More success came as in 2001, Lindy UK moved into a new home, a multi-million pound modern office with extensive warehouse facilities.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/section>\n\n\n\n
