At our headquarters in Mannheim, Lindy relies on environmentally and socially responsible solutions. Our modern office building is equipped with a combined heat and power plant (CHP) and a photovoltaic system (PV system).
• CHP (Combined Heat and Power)
• Photovoltaics
• Charging Stations
• Biodiversity
The combined heat and power plant (CHP) operates on the principle of cogeneration, efficiently using natural gas to generate electricity while repurposing the resulting waste heat for building heating. This reduces CO₂ emissions by approximately 30% compared to conventional heating and power generation methods. The CHP alone already generates nearly 10% more energy than our average annual consumption. Together with our photovoltaic system (see next section), we produce a significant energy surplus.
The photovoltaic system on the glass roof converts solar energy into eco-friendly electricity. On average, around 55% of our annual energy needs are covered by the PV system. Combined with the CHP, the photovoltaic system generates a surplus equal to approximately 63% of our annual energy consumption, which is fed into the power grid.
We promote e-mobility with charging stations for electric vehicles on our company premises.
Lindy employees can conveniently charge their electric vehicles on-site at a low cost. Part of the Lindy vehicle fleet has already been converted to e-mobility.
Our green spaces contribute to biodiversity with insect-friendly flowering meadows and lavender hedges. They provide habitat for wildlife and promote species diversity.
