At Lindy, social commitment is a deep rooted tradition—both as part of corporate responsibility and on a personal level within the entrepreneurial family and among employees. Out of this commitment, Klaus and Ilse Lindenberg founded the Lindy Foundation (Lindy Stiftung gGmbH) in 2011. The foundation supports charitable causes directly and exclusively.
The foundation’s purposes are diverse and include the promotion of youth development, care for the elderly, assistance for people in need, support for development aid, culture, education, and animal welfare.
The foundation’s assets primarily stem from its stake in Lindy-Elektronik GmbH, as well as from direct donations to the Lindy Foundation.
Over the years, the Lindy Foundation has supported projects worldwide in line with its charitable purposes. A particular focus is on the continuous support of nonprofit organizations in which members of the foundingl family are personally involved.
In addition, the foundation supports initiatives and organizations in times of acute crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic or the war in Ukraine, as well as in humanitarian and environmental disasters. To provide aid in urgent situations without overlooking other crises, we deliberately support organizations operating in lesser-known but equally needy crisis areas.
Through annual donation calls, Lindy employees also have the opportunity to nominate organizations and projects that are personally important to them.
The Mannheim-based organization Nyota e.V. operates a daycare center in western Kenya, providing care for orphaned children and preparing them linguistically for school. Additionally, the organization supports small-scale farmers through free workshops on sustainable agriculture as part of the Nyota Community Empowerment Program, which facilitates knowledge transfer and network building.
The Lindy Foundation supports the work with orphaned children, the expansion of the organic school garden to supply the daycare center, and the empowerment program with the goal of promoting self-sufficiency.

The nonprofit organization Kibaré Onlus, based in Como, Italy, is engaged in development aid in Burkina Faso. In collaboration with local partners, it implements projects in the fields of education, nutrition, and healthcare.
Thanks to the support of the Lindy Foundation, various projects of the organization have been funded in recent years. Most recently, the focus has been on the Fili di Luce initiative — a training center for the production and processing of traditional Faso-Danfani fabrics. This project provides young people with career opportunities while preserving and promoting local traditions.

Jugendreiterhof Mannheim e.V. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing children and young people in Mannheim with a natural connection to horses. The focus of their work is on the educational aspect and the respectful, species-appropriate treatment of horses as partners.
The Lindy Foundation’s support benefits the association’s senior horses. Unlike many riding clubs, where elderly or sick horses are often relocated, the Jugendreiterhof allows them to remain in their familiar environment and herd, where they receive loving care.
