HDBaseT technology uses 5Play technology to transmit UHD video & audio, various control signals (CEC, RS-232, IR etc.), USB, Ethernet and up to 100W of power over a single Cat.x cable.
The feature set of HDBaseT has become invaluable as more and more applications require multiple signals to be sent over long distances to a single device. The future of HDBaseT includes the incorporation of fibre optic technology to distribute 5Play technology over even greater distances. Compression will also be used by state of the art HDBaseT systems to deliver 4K resolutions with 4:4:4 colour spacing at 60Hz to allow for the highest quality video to be delivered from source to display.

The Lindy HDBaseT Extender with its clever, cutting-edge HDBaseT version 2.0 technology, is perfect for delivering high resolution AV content over distances up to 100m, which is required for many small and mid-sized installations.
SINGLE CABLE
AV content up to 3840×2160@60Hz via HDMI, Fast Ethernet, IR and RS232 control signals, plus USB 2.0 can all smoothly and reliably share a single Cat.6 path without conflicting. Pre-existing Cat.6 Ethernet connections within a building can be easily used for this. Integrated USB transmission capabilities can be taken advantage of for uplink or downlink applications.
UNCOMPRESSED TRANSMISSION
The possibilities include placing an entire workplace at a distance from a computer or, say, connecting a USB device such as a printer to a remote laptop. Uncompressed transmission ensures that AV content arrives without sacrificing anything in the way of brilliance and detail.
USING EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE
Many small and mid sized companies require a way to route high resolution AV content from a source device in an equipment or server room to a display elsewhere for presentation purposes. The HDBaseT Extender perfectly lends itself to this task by taking advantage of existing cables.
COST-EFFICIENT
The same line can also carry Ethernet signals to and from workstations, provide bidirectional USB connections between both locations, and transmit IR signals for remotely controlling the source device and display. These multiple features maximises the cost-efficiency of the existing cable network.
